Some low-life doctor had his priorities all mixed up - Hippocratic Oath or the compulsions of the church (read religious affiliation) he belongs to. The tragedy might not have taken place if the church factor was non-existent in the first place, in where his brain is supposed to be. He might as well have done with just being a horrible doctor.
It is Religion which makes him a low-life.
Who is accountable?
Is Religion of such paramount significance for the emancipation of us mortal souls? What justifies the morbid intensity with which religion has been preserved and preached over time and history -- that it has corrupted the human mind to the extent that it can nonchalantly observe a life fizzle out and still Justify it by insensitive religious references?
No matter how many billions of dead souls have reached the Pearly Gates or Crossed rivers, gripping a bovine appendage, it takes just one barbaric act of murder to denounce it, and the people who have actively shaped it likewise be branded as Preachers and Preservers of utmost Brazen Corruption
(or religion)
Can we deny that we ourselves, the Religious (and therefore the Righteous) lot have succumbed to it, while indulging in Coward Escapism? Or the story of hypocrisy each one of us continues to elaborate while living around the central theme of our Personal Gods.
Religion has managed to trespass into
the Hippocratic Oath, and has claimed its victim. Well to Religion I offer My Left Foot, not because I'm an atheist, but because I'm a human being.
This institution of Religion might be alleviating the moral corruption of a million wretched souls worldwide, but the moment it appeared in its wretched-most avatar to ignore and deny the pleading of a woman over a period of seven days, who just wanted to live, like you and me.
THIS is why I've developed Zero Tolerance to Religion, or at least what I've percieved it to be, strongly(and now looking back,rather uncharitably) conditioned by my surroundings, while growing up.
Religion seems to be A weapon man resorts to using, time & again to serve ulterior motive, all zealots are snugly comfortable under its shade, while the masses are having their "daily dose of opium". Children are sexually abused, women are raped, men are killed, untouchables remain down-trodden, millions of chips are wasted - all in the name of I-don't-know-Mr.who-holy-cow-called-god-of-the-shrines.
A shred of saffron or green, a cross, an inelligible set of incantations anywhere, and we bow down, drink polluted water which has washed Mr-God's clay-cement-marble foot and start with our Prayers:
"keep me well,
give me money,
get a good score-card for my child in school,
get me Mr/ms perfect for spouse,
don't bless my enemy" in the most unabashed shamelessness.
